Worldwide Water Pollution

Water Pollution

Water pollution is the contamination of water bodies (e.g. lakes, rivers, oceans, aquifers and groundwater). This form of environmental degradation occurs when pollutants are directly or indirectly discharged into water bodies without adequate treatment to remove harmful substances. Water pollution kills underwater ecosystems which can intern end with a loss of a massive food supply to various places around the world. This has become an issue to use because it could affect us in the United States. The pollution has become a very serious issue because humans are wiping out coral reefs and destroying ecosystems that marine animals depend on.
